The Folly of Charleston Nib
Having saved Captain Brage from the curse of his sword, the Troupe buys some new boots from Nashkel’s resident svirfneblin. They now return to the wilderness in search of the Cloakwood once again. But the wilds are often full of unexpected dangers.
Chiang Mai Prison Massage
In 1974 sociologist Robert Martinson argued that nothing works. This led to less focus on rehabilitation in the USA, and more focus on punishment. Being from Europe, I was always surprised to hear American judges talk about “punishments” when referring to sentences. Shouldn’t prisons be about rehabilitation.
Keeping the King in the Dark
This week, a simple game about growing and expanding a small kingdom. Coated with gorgeous pixel-art, this simple game has more depth to it than you realise. It’s both an adventure in discovering mechanics, and an enjoyable roguelite challenge.
Bugs and Banners (and a Rest)
Sometimes you need to slow down and focus on other things, and this week has been particularly hectic. So, I didn’t get as much done this week as I usually do. I still fixed a couple of bugs and added a new feature.
Mr. Robot: I am Elliot Alderson
One year I was flying back to Shanghai from Burning Man and I was browsing the in-flight entertainment. I found a show that featured a character that seemed eerily familiar. There was something buzzing in the back of my brain when I watched it.
The Curse of Captain Brage
The Troupe, having explored the border between the Sword Coast and Amn, now make their way to the north. Ogres and gibberlings may be dead, but there are still bandits prowling the area. North will lead them to the Cloakwood, and to Tazok, the leader of the bandits.
Exploring Chiang Mai Temples
On our first day in Chiang Mai we decided to try out the prison massage. We had to book a few hours in advance, however, so we decided to wander the city and see what we could find.
Super Meat Boy is a Challenge
Years ago I played a challenging flash game called “Meat Boy”, in which you had to speed-run levels, avoiding obstacles. Later, a sequel would be released across multiple platforms, and from what I heard it was a good game. I never found out because I never played it.
Bits and Bobs. And Sherds
This week I worked on a lot of small tasks. Some new features, a bugfix or two, some minor tweaks, and butterfly sherds. It’s nice to work on small things sometimes. It feels like you’ve achieved a lot more than usual.
