Geocaching is an app that opens up a world to mysterious treasures. People leave “caches” hidden in many places, and the lets you find where they are. It’s often a good way to find hidden secrets, and sometimes you have no idea what you might stumble across.

Yin Yang Festival: Party on the Great Wall
One of the seven wonders of the world can be found in China. So, of course, the one time I visited it was when there was a music festival. For six years, The Mansion Project of Shanghai would run the Yin Yang Festival on the Great Wall in Tianjin.
Croagh Patrick: Ireland’s Holiest Mountain
I don’t feel quite ready for Ireland’s highest mountain just yet, so instead I went for the holiest instead. Croagh Patrick, also known as the Reek, is a pilgrimage site where it is said that St. Patrick expelled the snakes from Ireland.
Returning to the New China
In 2022 I decided to go to Burning Man despite the restrictions in place for getting back into China. I didn’t really care all that much, I just needed to get out of the country for a while.
Slieve Donard: The Fourth Peak

Rivington Pike
There are many local traditions around the holidays that you will only know if you are local. One such tradition for locals living near Bolton, England is to walk up Rivington Pike on Boxing Day.
Hengshan Park – Places You Might Miss
The French Municipal Council built Hengshan Park in August 1925. During construction, they took 5000 tonnes of mud from XuJiaHui River. They used the mud to fill out the low-lying channel to the north of the park. Afterwards, they built a pavilion on top and planted many arbour trees.
Dandong Beer Festival
Last time we were in Dandong we saw an advertisement for the Dandong Beer Festival. We planned to finish our holiday with some excessive beer consumption.
After returning to Dandong we rested up in our hotel for a short while. The we headed over to Peter’s for some food.
Sino-Korean Border Road Trip
The day after our long detour from Ji’an we set off back to Dandong. We had planned to start driving down the Sino-Korean border from Linjiang. Unfortunately we ended up 90km off course so we would only get to do it from Ji’an.
