When I finished one of Frostpunk’s campaigns for the first time I didn’t feel like I had won. I felt hollow and empty, like a part of my soul had been taken from me. I had won. But at what cost.
Playing My Steam Library
So many unplayed games in my library… Let’s play them all!
Portal 2: This Was a Triumph
I’ve played through this classic game before, but apparently I’ve never played it through Steam. So for the sake of completeness I decided to revisit the game so I can add another notch to my Steam bedpost. Any excuse to play through this fantastic sequel again.
Western Press: An Empty World
Set in the Wild Wild West, Western Press is a game focused on pistol duelling. You need to be quick on the draw at dawn, at dusk, or at any other time.
RISK: Global Domination
The classic board game brought to Steam. It’s a fun, if frustrating experience. After a steep learning curve I started to get a handle on the game, but I’ve still a ways to go.
Warning from the Refugees
The Londoners have been defeated, but it is getting colder. More refugees are coming to the city. We need to make sure we can house them. And we will need more coal to heat their homes. And more food. And more of all the things we don’t have.
The Battle of the Londoners
The Londoner movement is gaining too much traction. We are struggling to maintain our supply of coal and it’s getting even harder to maintain hope for our future. If I can just keep the people warm, I can maintain order and get us through this everlasting winter.
Frostpunk: Hoping for Coal
I continue in my attempt to save humanity in the frozen wastelands of Frostpunk. Battling both the rebellious Londoners and a lack of resources, it’s getting harder to maintain hope for the future.
Frostpunk: Tough Decisions
Another post-apocalyptic game, this one is set in a world that has become a frozen wasteland. You take the role of leader as the survivors attempt to rebuild society. In this game your greatest enemy is the environment itself.
Experimenting with Banana
There’s a weird game that’s managed to become Steam’s most played. At the time of writing it still sits at number 4. This game feels like a scam, like something that preys on people who want money.
Labyrinthine Dreams
This week I played a puzzle game full of mazes, made using RPG Maker, a popular tool used to make JRPG-style games. It’s short and easily completed. But I’m not so sure it’s worth spending an hour or two of your life to play through this one.
