Partying at Haad Yuan Beach

After spending some time in Koh Samui we got a boat to Koh Phangan to visit some friends. Except we got the wrong boat. After arriving at Surat Thani, we got on another boat to Koh Phangan, making extra sure it was the right one this time.

The waters were calm on our way to Koh Phangan. It was an easy ride, despite it taking a lot longer thanks to us getting on the wrong boat. I couldn’t complain though, riding a boat is one of my favourite ways to travel.

When we arrived at Koh Phangan we got in touch with our friend and arranged to get a tuk tuk to the Coral Bungalows where he was staying. They attempted to overcharge us by a lot, but this wasn’t our first rodeo and we knew how much it was supposed to be.

Our friend was still working when we arrived, so we went down to the beach and watched a tropical storm making its way toward the island. I love tropical storms and will watch them any chance that I get.

When my friend had finished his work he told us of a party he was planning to go to that night. In Koh Phangan at the weekend, the place to go is Haad Yuan Beach. The only way to get there (other than hiking for a few hours) was to get a boat from Haad Rin.

When we arrived at the beach, we went up to the Bigblue Bungalows where they had rented a bungalow for the weekend. Here we would set up a set of decks and a small sound setup so people could DJ over the weekend.

By the time we had finished setting up it was sunrise, so we made our way down to Eden, one of two nearby clubs. It was a good time with people dancing and enjoying the sun rise.

After a day of partying I was done in, so I got a boat back to Haad Rin and crashed at my friend’s bungalow. The next day we would sort out a place to stay in the northern side of Koh Phangan, ready to explore more of the island.
