We did a lot of interesting things while on Koh Phangan. A lot of it not really worth a full article to talk about. So here’s a short photo journal of some of the things we got up to before we set sail for Koh Tao.
We discovered Common Grounds Cafe, a great place with free WiFi and a swimming pool. This is their version of a “Philly Cheese” sandwich. I know it’s nothing like the real thing, but this was the best western food I had on the island.

There is only one Metal Rock Cafe on the entire island, and it’s the perfect place to meet people. The owners are local and very friendly. If you’re a metal head you will feel welcome here.

We go to tropical islands for the weather. Though sometimes it isn’t what you expected.
You might have rules about what people can do on/near your property, but there’s no reason you can’t have fun with them.

If you want a nice lake view while eating breakfast or lunch, go to UNCLE Cafe. There are others nearby, but somehow this feels like the nicest spot.

You can find people jamming at the aptly named Jam Bar. It’s a good place to chill out with a few beers.

Finally, if you want authentic Thai food, you absolutely cannot miss Mama Pooh’s Kitchen. They don’t speak English, but they have a system that gets you the nicest food you will have on the island.
