There are games that are extremely popular that I just don’t get. Grim Dawn has a loyal fanbase and a Very Positive rating on Steam. Yet after three hours, I still can’t understand the appeal. Am I out of touch, or is it the children who are wrong.
Baldur’s Gate
The most epic trilogy in video game form ever written.
Baldur’s Gate and Inventory Management
For a while now I’ve been playing a heavily modded version of the Baldur’s Gate Trilogy where I make use of modded container items.
Tragedy of the Baldur’s Gate Intro
When the Enhanced Editions of Baldur’s Gate were announced, there was one thing they said that worried long time fans. When they came out and I saw what they had done I was very sad. There was one experience removed from the game that I wish they had done better.
Girdle of Gender Nonconformity
It’s the holiday week so I don’t have much time to play Baldur’s Gate right now. So I thought I’d do a quick article about one aspect I really like about Baldur’s Gate’s design. It’s one you don’t even know is there unless you specifically look for it.
Unlocking Skins in Action Henk
My mission to finish all games in my Steam Library is moving at a slow pace. Lately I’ve been playing a lot of Action Henk, earning medals and unlocking skins. It’s gotten me thinking about skins in games, and how they have changed over the years.
Friends from the Keep
8 Mirtul 1368
Across from Firebead’s home we find Feldepost’s Inn. Firebead wanted a copy of “The History of the Fateful Coin”, which he said should be for sale at the inn. We make our way inside.
A Talkative Aura
8 Mirtul 1368
Seeking to deliver another of Bartleby’s letters, we enter the home of Firebead. Inside we find him with his nose in a book. It takes a second before he realises he has company, and he looks up at us.
Making Friends
8 Mirtul 1368
There are a lot of NPC mods in this install, and most of them are in Beregost. So we are going to be looking at a lot of new characters over the next few chapters.
Familiar Faces
2 Mirtul 1368
I have been meaning to summon a familiar for some time now. It feels right to do it now. One more thing to prepare for father’s journey.
Socialising at Winthrop’s
2 Mirtul 1368
Today is an unusual day. My father has uncharacteristically interrupted my chores. He told me I needed to prepare for a journey: we are leaving Candlekeep. I have mixed feelings about this.
On the one hand I have never seen outside these walls.
